Boiler Installation Cost UK Guide
A full parts-and-labour breakdown for combi, system and conventional boiler replacements — plus an instant calculator for your own home.
The short answer
Most UK homeowners pay £1,900–£3,200 for a new combi boiler supplied and fitted, and £2,300–£3,800 for a system boiler. Around half of that is the boiler and parts, and half is the Gas Safe engineer's labour. Prices climb when the boiler moves position, when a conventional system is converted to a combi, or when the gas supply pipe needs upgrading.

What drives the price up or down
- Position change — moving the boiler adds £600–£1,200 in pipework, flue and making-good work.
- System type — removing a cylinder and loft tanks for a combi conversion adds a day of labour plus waste removal.
- Gas supply — older homes on 15 mm gas pipe often need a 22 mm upgrade (£150–£350).
- System condition — a sludged system needs a power flush (£350–£650) before the warranty is valid.
- Region — London and the South East run 10–15% above the UK average; the North East, Scotland and Northern Ireland run 10–18% below.
- Controls — a smart thermostat, TRVs and weather compensation add £200–£500 but cut running costs.
